Career Summary
|
|
|
|
Following four years at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virgina, Bryan began
his career as an ASE-certified Master Mechanic in 1992. In 1996, he took a break
from auto mechanics to join his father’s custom home building business. In 1999,
Bryan began Bryan Dobyns Motorsports (BDM) to pursue his life-long dream of building
and driving race cars. Bryan and his wife, Brooke, live in Manassas, Virginia with
their two girls, Carly and Elyse.

Today, BDM supports a variety of automotive specialties from fabrication to track-side
support, including but not limited to:

Complete building of Factory Five Racing Challenge Cobra replica race cars for customers
use in competing within National Auto Sport Association (NASA) and SCCA.
|
|
Complete and partial building of automobiles competing in national and regional
leagues of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA).
|
|
Rebuilding of, fabrication of, and track-side support for a GT-1 Corvette competing
in SCCA Nationals.
|
|
In conjunction with Factory Five Racing, test and development of parts used by Factory
Five.
|
|
|
|
In 2000, Bryan worked closely with Chris Cobetto, East Coast NASA Representative,
and Factory Five Racing to create the FFR Challenge Series and its rules.

Racing Summary
|
|
|
|
Bryan made his road racing debut in 1996, winning the first race of the season while
driving a 1985 Ford Mustang that he built to participate in the American Sedan class
of SCCA. This was Bryan’s first attempt to build a road racing car, first race within
a sanctioned class, and first win.

|
To date, Bryan builds and races all of his winning cars.
